Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, met with members of the Global Future Councils on the sidelines of the 2025 Annual Meetings held in partnership with the World Economic Forum.
Held in Dubai, the event brought together more than 700 experts from 93 countries, including government officials, academics, and industry leaders. This year, 38 Emiratis are participating in the Councils, with 26 joining for the first time. Twelve existing members have retained their seats, continuing to contribute to the UAE’s international leadership in innovation, foresight, and policymaking.
The meeting was attended by key UAE officials, including His Excellency Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Co-Chair of the Global Future Councils; Her Excellency Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future; His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications; and Her Excellency Maryam bint Ahmed Al Hammadi, Minister of State and Secretary General of the UAE Cabinet.
The Emirati experts appointed to the Councils represent a broad range of strategic sectors. These include health, artificial intelligence, energy, finance, manufacturing, climate, cybersecurity, and space. Among them are Dr. Amer Sharif, CEO of Dubai Academic Health Corporation; Mohamed Al Ramahi, CEO of Masdar; and Dr. Moza Suwaidan, CEO of Digital Applications and Platforms at Digital Dubai.
Returning members include prominent figures such as His Excellency Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation; Her Excellency Mona Al Marri, Vice President of the UAE Gender Balance Council; and His Excellency Salem Al Marri, Director General of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre.
The UAE’s sustained involvement in the Councils underscores its national strategy to become a global center for future-focused policy development. Emirati members contribute directly to shaping global dialogue on topics ranging from climate action to digital governance and human capital development.
The 2025–2026 cycle of the Global Future Councils concludes on October 16.
