Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, met with Børge Brende, President and CEO of the World Economic Forum, during the opening of the 2025 Annual Meetings of the Global Future Councils and the Cybersecurity Council, held in Dubai through October 16.

The meeting underscored the ongoing strategic partnership between the UAE and the World Economic Forum, with Brende commending the UAE’s consistent leadership in facilitating dialogue on global challenges and long-term policy planning. He noted the enduring impact of this collaboration, which over the past 16 years has produced more than 900 councils and involved over 12,000 experts worldwide.

Sheikha Latifa affirmed the UAE’s continued role as a global partner in shaping future-focused frameworks, citing national priorities in digital transformation, cybersecurity, and advanced technology. She emphasized that identifying solutions to global challenges requires innovation, collaboration, and the ability to turn disruption into opportunity.

Also present at the meeting were His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; His Excellency Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Co-Chair of the Global Future Councils; Her Excellency Ohood Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future; and His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications.

This year’s edition of the Global Future Councils brings together over 700 experts from 93 countries across 37 councils. For the first time, the annual Cybersecurity Council meeting is being held in parallel, reflecting a more integrated approach to global risk and innovation.
