Dubai Chambers Hosts Dialogue on Global Economic Shifts and Business Resilience

Dubai Chambers convened more than 150 business leaders and industry experts today for the ‘Global Trends Dialogue,’ a high-level forum focused on the implications of global economic transitions and strategies for maintaining resilience and growth in an evolving marketplace.

Held under the theme "Resilient Growth: Navigating Global Shifts & Regional Strengths", the event took place at Dubai Chambers’ headquarters and featured three thematic sessions. Attendees included H.E. Eng. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Chairman of Dubai Chambers, and H.E. Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of the organization.

The forum addressed shifts in global trade, manufacturing, and supply chains, with an emphasis on how businesses can remain competitive amid technological disruptions and geopolitical change.

In his remarks, Al Mansoori highlighted Dubai’s long-term approach to economic planning: “Dubai’s economic resilience lies in its ability to anticipate and respond proactively to global transformations through well-defined, forward-looking strategies,” he said. He emphasized the Chamber’s role in helping the private sector prepare for and adapt to emerging global conditions.

The first session focused on the impact of rising customs duties and the resulting shifts in global trade patterns. Speakers examined how these changes are influencing supply routes and market access.

The second session addressed the future of manufacturing, particularly the integration of artificial intelligence, robotics, and the Internet of Things. Panelists discussed how these technologies are reshaping production and underscored the need for companies to realign data strategies and invest in workforce upskilling.

The final session explored the reconfiguration of global supply chains, including the rise of nearshoring, the application of AI in logistics, and sustainable shipping practices. The discussion also considered Dubai’s strategic position as a logistics hub connecting emerging and developed markets.

The event reflects Dubai Chambers’ ongoing effort to facilitate informed dialogue and policy alignment between the public and private sectors, with the aim of strengthening the emirate’s economic competitiveness.
