Dubai Municipality and Siemens Advance AI Integration in Public Infrastructure
Dubai Municipality has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding with Siemens to expand the use of artificial intelligence and advanced digital systems across the emirate’s public facilities. The agreement supports the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) and reinforces the city’s plan to strengthen a sustainable, knowledge-driven digital economy.

The MoU was signed by Badr Anwahi, Chief Executive Officer of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, and Helmut von Struve, Chief Executive Officer of Siemens Middle East and the UAE. Under the agreement, both entities will collaborate on deploying AI-enabled technologies to improve facility operations, energy management, and the performance of urban assets.

According to Anwahi, the partnership reflects the Municipality’s commitment to integrating advanced digital tools into the design and operation of parks, beaches, and other public environments. He noted that Siemens’ expertise in intelligent infrastructure will support efforts to raise efficiency, strengthen sustainability, and ensure high standards of public service.

The agreement establishes a framework for piloting Siemens’ digital systems across a range of municipal facilities. Planned areas of cooperation include predictive maintenance, AI-driven building automation, energy-optimisation tools, and data-analytics platforms capable of monitoring environmental and operational conditions in real time.

Both parties will also develop technical guidelines to support knowledge exchange and the application of global best practices in smart-infrastructure development. These initiatives align with Dubai Municipality’s long-term objective of building public spaces that are more efficient, sustainable, and responsive to community needs.

Von Struve said the collaboration reflects a joint commitment to applying scalable, AI-based solutions that enhance operational performance and advance environmental goals. He added that the partnership contributes to Dubai’s broader sustainability strategy and to the UAE’s digital-transformation agenda.

The MoU strengthens the Public Facilities Agency’s role in driving digital adoption across Dubai’s urban landscape and supports ongoing efforts to develop people-centered infrastructure that anticipates future requirements.
