Dubai Convenes Global Executives to Expand Digital Gaming Sector
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence, met with executives from 80 domestic and international gaming corporations at the Dubai Gaming Retreat to coordinate public-private initiatives for the emirate's digital economy.
The convention, organized by the Dubai Media Council, served as an industry forum to realign municipal policies with the evolving requirements of developers, publishers, and investors. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, accompanied the Crown Prince to review plans aimed at expanding the sector's fiscal contribution under the guidelines of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.
Municipal administrators and industry stakeholders structured the retreat around five core operational priorities: talent procurement, regulatory governance, capital funding, global marketing, and technological infrastructure. The event drew representatives from prominent interactive entertainment brands, including PlayStation, Tencent, NVIDIA, Electronic Arts, and Ubisoft.
According to organizers, the Dubai Films and Games Commission will compile the strategic recommendations voiced during the panel sessions into a comprehensive policy report. The findings are intended to direct future legislative frameworks and public infrastructure investments as Dubai attempts to expand its capacity as a regional hub for digital technologies and the creative economy.
